Decorate To Celebrate Design Team featuring Fleurette Bloom "Baby Panda Garland"

MY STORY

For this week's Design Team Challenge, we had an amazing sponsor - Fleurette Bloom click for website. This site offers beautiful printables -- coordinated images and papers.  I have not worked with digital product before and I think I might be hooked.

The images are crisp and adaptable to so many projects and since you upload, you will never run out of your favorite paper.  Great product - check it out.  You will be glad you did.

I fell in love with their Baby Panda selection and created a garland with some of the images.

YOUR TURN

Using a template from a Paper Source garland, I printed out several different pages in the Fleurette Bloom collection.  Trace lightly around the template on your desired images and paper.  Cut out as many as you wish.

After you have the basic shapes, layer on different images/papers to give some interest.  HINT:  I liked printing the images out on glossy photo paper.  It adds a little shine and your project will be more durable.

Continue on creating as many shapes as you need.  Determine the order of your pieces -- do you want a traditional banner or a long vertical one as in my example.  Try to break up your colors.

Choose a color ribbon or string -- you will need one long continuous piece, I think mine was approximately 3 yards.  Using a hole punch, create holes in the bottom and top of your garland base.  HINT:  Do not punch too close to the edge - you don't want your pieces to start ripping once you start stringing together.

Working from the bottom up, thread your ribbon through the bottom hole and up through the back and out to the top hole.  You want your ribbon behind your pieces.  Keep threading your completed panels.  Do not worry about the spacing  yet, that will be fixed once you are finished adding on to the ribbon.

When finished, glue the ribbon on the back of the bottom piece for more security.  Lay out and space as you wish.

And that is pretty much it.

Now that all these gorgeous papers are on your computer, think about carrying the theme throughout all the pieces of your celebration - like place cards and cupcake pics.  The opportunities are endless and you will never run out of your favorite paper.

Thank you to Fleurette Bloom for the inspirational products to work with!
